Following the recent release of their 2nd longplayer, « 180.000 Miles & Counting », The Dynamics are back in 2012 with a dope remixes package of their new single « For the Love of Money ». We couldn’t resist to ask the mysterious bootleg Kings 7 Samurai (GAMM) to do a remix, and he turned the track in a massive Reggae-Disco version. There are lots of Steel Funk recordings by huge orchestras from Trinidad and other Caribbean islands. We were wondering what would become « For The Love of Money » in their hands, the answer is given by the master of Deep Funk, The Mighty Mocambos, with the participation of the Bacao Rhythm & Steel Band.

WALKO is a band from Nantes, France, which draws inspiration from the work of Fela Anikulapo KUTI the creator of the afrobeat, where its sources could be found in jazz, funk or highlife… Walko gets its musical eclectism from its members coming from Caribbean, Africa, Asia and France. Sanguebom presents « SAMURAÏ », a little jewel of dub, tinted with melodica and classical guitar. On this track, he invites the preacher MC Jahguidi, who chants his truths in music, exactly like Prince Far I would do it. If the late Gil Scott Heron sang “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised” in 1970, Jahguidi, continues the revolution here and pays tribute to the roots of music from his elders, with all the love and peace from a samurai warrior. “Samurai” is the first single from the album “BLACK STAR LINE”, produced by Sanguebom and due for release on the first quarter 2012.

Funky Bijou is back! Following their first 7inch, which has been played in every breakdance battle event over the world, Marrrtin & Deheb deliver another bijou named « Tell Him / Ooh Baby ». It consists of 2 remixes from Patti Drew’s hit, « Tell Him » and Smokey Robinson’s classic, « Ooh Baby ». They turn these two ballads into 2011 nu-funk and groove idioms! Brand new release on Zion Gate Music Label! This recording is the first of a series of reggae covers of soul classics to get released. Chistine Miller is a UK based recording artist. She does a wonderful rendition of Marvin Gaye’s all time classic: Inner City Blues. The Zion Gate Players provide the backing, somewhere between soul and reggae with a touch of blues. Ray Stephen Oche is a singer, drummer, flutist and mainly trumpet player from Nigeria. This LP has been recorded in Paris with musicians from Congo, Togo, Guinea, Gambia, but also Brazil and « french » West Indies. The whole album is roots and groovy afrojazz, full of percussions and african singing (in Idoma language).
